The Quarter is Done

It is nice to have the fall quarter done and in the books.  I knew the possibility of being on the Presidents list was going to be hard and I had given up hope that I would make it three in a row.  I was even thinking that getting on the Deans list would be a stretch.  The reason why I was doubting myself was having two of my classes be writing classes and one of them the instructor wanted the papers done research style.  I have never been one to do a lot of writing and I knew my grammar would be hard if he was grading that as well and he was.  My hardest one being Computer Ethics.  So much writing and the style of writing.  The class I enjoyed was the Computer Security class and even though it had writing as well I was very comfortable with answering the questions.  SharePoint was the application class and I do well with them as I can spend time playing with the application and learn what I need to know. I was so surprised when the grades were posted. To be on the Presidents list you must be at a 95% or above.  The Ethics class was 95.3% and I was indeed happy about that.  Maybe there is a chance.  Computer Security class was 96.7% and that was good.  One class to go and that is the SharePoint class.  It came in at a 94.2%.  I missed the Presidents list by .8%.  I was so close and didn't realize it but that was one or two questions on a midterm test.  I am happy to have made the Deans list.  At least I got on someones list whether it was good or bad.

I have one class to complete during the Winter quarter and that is Database Management.  I will then have my Certificate in Computer Support.  Finding a job will start sometime in January as I complete the quarter.  I would like to work from home if possible and somehow try to travel as well.  A dream of mine to go cross country and still be able to bring in an income.  I have to be patient and keep my options open.

I spent the last two days playing poker down at the casino.  I am very rusty and I think it shows.  I sat down at the $2-$4 Limit game and won a couple of hands and then I got away from my playing style and started playing more hands than I should.  I then entered the tournament and did manage to make the final table but didn't go very deep.  I will take some time and play in some more tournaments, in these three weeks I have off, and see how I do.  I missed playing but I really needed to spend my time in the books and finish this program at the college.

I am hoping I will have more time now to write more blogs, relax and get ready for the final push.

Have a fun day....
